Vaishali: The Birthplace of Mahavira

Located at around 65 kms from Patna, Vaishali is known to be the oldest republic in the world. It gets its name from King Vishal from the time of Mahabharata. Being the birthplace of Lord Mahavira, it is closely associated with the Jains and also the Buddhists and Hindus. Some of the finest attractions of this place include Ashoka pillar, Buddha relic stupa, and the Jain temple built at the birthplace of Lord Mahavira.
